Neck Lift

A Neck Lift, medically known as lower rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to rejuvenate the neck area, creating a more youthful and defined profile. This popular cosmetic surgery targets loose skin, excess fat, and muscle banding in the neck, addressing common signs of aging such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and the appearance of a “turkey neck”.

Neck Lift

During a Neck Lift procedure, the surgeon makes discreet incisions behind the ears and/or under the chin, allowing access to the underlying tissues. Depending on the patient’s specific needs, excess fat may be removed through liposuction, underlying muscles may be tightened, and loose or sagging skin is trimmed and repositioned for a smoother, firmer contour. The procedure can also involve the removal of neck bands, creating a more defined and youthful neck and jawline.

Neck Lift surgery can be performed on its own or in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as facelift or eyelid surgery, for comprehensive facial enhancement. The goal is to create a natural-looking result, restoring a more youthful neck profile while maintaining the patient’s unique facial characteristics.

Recovery after a Neck Lift typically involves some swelling and bruising, which subside over the following weeks. Patients are usually advised to rest and avoid strenuous activities during the initial recovery period. Most individuals can return to work and social activities within two weeks, although full recovery may take several weeks to a few months, during which the final results become more apparent.
